I was browsing Walmart the other day and noticed their clearance section for electric bikes. The price drop honestly surprised me, and I’m curious if anyone else here has picked one up.
For example, I saw a commuter e-bike with a 350W motor marked down to about $400. Normally, these sit closer to $600. It claims around 35–40 miles per charge and a top speed of around 20 mph. On paper, that’s more than enough for daily errands or a short work commute.
There was also a bigger frame model with a 500W motor and a removable 48V battery priced in the $550–$600 range. Considering similar bikes usually cost above $900, that feels like one of the better clearance finds. A folding version was even cheaper, closer to $320–$350, though those are clearly designed for short city rides with smaller wheels.
Now, I know Walmart bikes aren’t always the highest end, but at these clearance prices, it feels like you’re getting decent value if you don’t need premium features. The trade-offs seem to be less advanced gearing and slightly heavier frames compared to mid-tier e-bikes sold elsewhere.
