iam eyeing Surron bikes for a while, and after digging into the details, I thought it might help to share what I found out for anyone else considering one.
The first thing that stood out to me was how the Light Bee X sits in a unique spot between a mountain bike and a dirt bike. It’s not just about the size it actually feels light enough to handle like a bicycle but still packs around 8 kW of power. Top speed hovers around 45–46 mph, and you can squeeze about 45 miles of range if you’re not constantly pushing it to the limit. Price-wise, most dealers keep it in the $4,600–$5,000 range, which is high compared to a regular mountain bike but affordable next to a full-size dirt bike.
On the other side, the Ultra Bee feels more like a “serious rider’s” machine. It’s stronger, faster, and heavier. With a 21 kW motor and top speeds close to 60 mph, it’s basically in dirt bike territory. But that performance comes with a bigger tag, usually $6,500–$6,700.
What I noticed from talking to a couple of owners is that the Light Bee X works better if you want a fun all-rounder, while the Ultra Bee makes sense if your main focus is trails and power. Either way, the price-to-performance ratio is what keeps people interested in Surron.
