Hi everyone,
I’ve recently been exploring the idea of getting a mountain eBike, and I wanted to start a discussion with people who have real experience using them on trails, hills, and rough terrain. I’ve researched so far, mountain eBikes seem like a game-changer, especially for riders who love off-road adventures but want a little extra power when climbing steep hills or covering long distances. The pedal-assist feature looks super helpful, and it seems like it doesn’t take away the fun of riding but actually enhances the overall experience. One thing I’m curious about is battery performance. How long does it usually last on rough trails? And does the battery drain faster when using higher assist modes on steep climbs? Also, I’ve seen both hardtail and full-suspension mountain eBikes. For those who have tried both, which one would you recommend for mixed terrain? I’m guessing full suspension is more comfortable, but is it worth the extra cost? Another important factor for me is durability. Since mountain trails can be pretty rough, I’d love to know which brands or models have proven to be reliable over time without frequent maintenance issues. Lastly, how does the weight of a mountain eBike affect handling? I’ve heard they are heavier than regular bikes. Does that make a big difference when riding downhill or on technical sections?
