Hey everyone
, I’ve spent a few weeks testing the Tenways ebike, mainly the CGO600 Pro and CGO800S, to see if it’s actually a solid choice for daily commuting or just another pretty lightweight ebike with big promises. Thought I’d share what stood out and what didn’t.
First off, the ride feel is smooth, the torque sensor does a good job of matching your pedal effort, so it feels natural and not jerky like some cheaper hub-motor bikes. The Gates carbon belt drive is a nice touch too — silent, clean, and basically maintenance-free compared to chain setups. It gives a very “city-ready” vibe.
On flat city roads, this bike feels quick and easy to handle. The CGO800S version especially feels comfortable because of its upright frame and slightly larger battery. I got around 50–65 km per charge on mixed terrain, which is fine for daily rides, though not the full “100 km” range they often mention. The motor (250W, 40 Nm torque) helps enough for mild hills, but on steep slopes, you’ll still need to pedal harder; that’s where you notice it’s not a mid-drive setup.
Weight-wise, around 19–23 kg depending on model and accessories, it’s fairly manageable, light enough to carry upstairs if needed. The hydraulic brakes are strong and responsive, and the built-in lights are bright enough for evening rides.
Now, for the price: the CGO600 Pro usually sells around $1,499–$1,699, while the CGO800S is closer to $1,899–$2,099. For what you get clean belt drive, decent range, and good comfort that’s a fair deal, especially if your riding is mostly urban.
If your daily ride is flat or slightly rolling, I’d say the Tenways ebike is a really solid buy. But if you’ve got long steep climbs or need a big battery range, you might want something with a stronger motor or gearing.
Overall, it’s a great commuter bike for city riders who want something light, stylish, and reliable without overpaying for unnecessary power
