I'm looking hard at the Surron e-bikes, especially the Light Bee X and Ultra Bee, and one thing that keeps coming up is the price. In 2025, a brand-new Light Bee X is sitting in the US$4,500–5,500 range, while the Ultra Bee stretches closer to US$7,000. Once you add in shipping, taxes, and dealer margins, the final cost in many countries jumps higher.
For anyone in Pakistan (or similar markets), that translates to roughly PKR 1.6–2.5 million landed depending on the route you use and whether you’re buying new or used. That’s a serious chunk of money, and it made me think: is it really worth it compared to what you get?
On paper, the Light Bee X gives around 60 miles of range, a top speed of about 45–50 mph, and weighs just under 50 kg which is pretty impressive for trail riding and city fun. The Ultra Bee doubles the power and feels more like a full motocross bike, but obviously with a bigger price tag.
My main question to riders who already own one: do you feel the performance and build quality justify this price? Or do you think it makes more sense to look at alternatives in the same budget? I’m leaning toward the Light Bee X for its balance of cost and specs, but I’d love to hear real-world opinions before pulling the trigger.
