I came across a recent update that an island has completely banned the use of electric bikes. The main reason mentioned was safety concerns and the impact on traditional transport, but it made me wonder if a full ban is really the right solution.
E-bikes are growing worldwide as a cheaper, eco-friendly option for commuting and travel. Many places are actually encouraging them, while others are moving in the opposite direction.
Do you think banning e-bikes in certain areas makes sense, or should there be better rules instead of a complete ban? What kind of regulations (speed limits, helmet laws, road restrictions, etc.) would be more practical in your opinion?
I’d like to hear from riders, locals, or anyone who has seen these kinds of restrictions in action. Does banning e-bikes protect communities, or does it hold back progress?
